Thirty years after the interreligious encounter of prayer for peace wanted by John Paul II, Assisi prepares itself to welcome from the 18th to the 20th of  September representatives of the main religious confessions, for a new meeting of dialogue and prayer between the different religions and cultures of the world. The event is promoted by the Sant'Egidio Community, the Franciscans and the Diocese of Assisi. Representatives of the institutions will take part, including the same President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella who will attend the inaugural meeting. The final day will see the intervention of Pope Francis; various religious leaders will pray for peace "in different places and each one according to his own religious tradition", as it is specified in the program. Legitimacy of a religious syncretism that focuses on peace and not on Jesus Christ? "He is our peace" it is written (Ephesians 2:14), "true God from true God"!

But in Assisi there are some who pray every night for the peace and salvation of souls, in the seclusion of a place of prayer, called "Sacred Echo" placed in the heart of Assisi, just a few meters from the central square. Those who pass by remain surprised: a small chapel unique in the world, not only for its tiny size, but because it was obtained from a former abandoned urinal, made available by the Assisi Council for the Community Families of Bethlehem and in particular for his elderly founder, Marcello Ciai: though seriously ill he does not renounce to go there to pray at night: for Assisi, for the Church, for the world ...

In fondo

The 82 years old Emperor of Japan, Akihito, announced in a video message - the second after the tsunami of 2011 - the possibility of having to give up,
because of his age, his institutional and religious role (he is the only "emperor" in office in the world, and head of the shinto religion). His father, Emperor Hirohito,
on August 15, 1945, in a historic radio message after the defeat of Japan, disavowed the divine nature of the emperor, whom the Japanese for centuries
have worshiped as a direct descendant of the gods, with the title of "heavenly sovereign". Better late than never!
After all "to admit a mistake is the first sign of great wisdom", as Minamoto Yoshitsune, the legendary Japanese hero, sentenced.
In Japan, the Christians are only a minority, who also suffered persecution over the centuries. Let's pray that in these last times of the divine mercy
also the Japanese will open themselves to faith in the true heavenly King, Jesus Christ, true God and true man, who died and has risen also for them.
Jesus, the truth that never fades, the immortal King of the centuries: His kingdom will never end!

On the occasion of the 8th centenary of the "Pardon of Assisi", which this year coincides with the extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, a short visit of Pope Francis to the Porziuncola. A visit of 2-3 hours in private: "pilgrim among pilgrims" as the Bishop of Assisi, Monsignor Domenico Sorrentino, has written in his pastoral letter.
But another anniversary is approaching, the thirtieth year from the meeting of the leaders of world religions for peace, wanted by John Paul II. Many other initiatives of inter-religious dialogue, and many "marches for the peace" from Perugia to Assisi have succeeded since then, but nevertheless now the Basilicas of St.Francis and of St. Mary of the Angels are guarded by soldiers in camouflage and with machine guns, and one can enter only having passed through metaldetectors...
We are at war, a war in pieces" the Pope continues to alert: insisting however that it is not a religious war. There are those who disagree: like the Syrian Catholic Patriarch Ignatius Joseph III Younan, even with all due respect for the Pope (which, he says, can also be criticized when he is not speaking ex cathedra...). The Patriarch, one of the highest religious authorities of the Christian East, asserts: "We are seeing violence fueled by the Koran. It isn’t right to deny that there is a link between Muslims and terrorists, because the Islamists are still learning today in their schools that those who do not believe in Allah are infidels and that they have the right to fight them".
In the background the alarming prophecies of the “prophet of Assisi”, Marcello Ezechiele Ciai, addressed to a Church under the judgment of God because searching "glory in the political and religious alliances", but who is scourged precisely by means of her allies. "Your allies are arming themselves, cruel warriors lie in wait at your door. Will the puppet-like guards of the royal palace be able to defend you? Every protection is demolished, oh house of Peter! (The Baggage of the Pope, 1995). And again: "For my anger, full of jealousy, happens and will happen what you deserve; and around the altar together with your idols, there are and there will be your wounded and your dead…You have to seek only My alliance that you have violated, which is the only way for true peace
(The Cloak, 1981).

Three appalling tragedies in two weeks: 20 civilians killed in Bangladesh, 23 victims and many injured in head-on collision between two trains in Puglia,
and finally the slaughter of Nice: 84 dead and a lot of wounded, including many children.

Terror and horror.
The consternation and mourning for the many people mangled in these events, is then followed by the research of the responsible.
But one speaks about all except God. For those, however, that have not given up looking in the Gospel for the ultimate answer to the increasingly frequent dramas
that are afflicting us, the answer given by Jesus in front of two episodes relatable to those we are talking about
is illuminating.
Pilate had massacred Galileans who officiated in the temple, and a tower had collapsed in Jerusalem overwhelm
ing 18 people.
"
Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were worse sinners than all other Galileans?... Or those eighteen who were killed when
the tower of Siloam fell on them, do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others living in Jerusalem?

No, I tell you; but unless you repent you will all perish
just as they did”.

God's judgment was at that time hanging upon Israel, rebellious to God and his Messiah, as the judgment of God is now being manifested
on a world increasingly perverse and hostile to God. The words of Jesus are peremptory,
they call us to convert and to believe in Him
and his proclamation of love and salvation ... until we have time!

Virginia Raggi in Rome, Chiara Appendino in Turin, Stefania Proietti in Assisi: three women mayors
(it's the first time that this happens in Rome and Assisi) on which the hopes of many are pinned.
We put together with them an image of the Virgin Mary at the wedding at Cana,
a sublime example of humility and firm determination of good.
The bride and the groom had to be poor people, if at the marriage feast the wine had given out.
Mary won the initial resistance of Jesus - "woman, what have you to do with me?" he had answered.
Mary said to the servants: "do whatever he tells you". And Jesus ordered the servants
to fill the jugs with water which he transformed to wine.
That Mary could inspire these women mayors, for the true good of the cities which they have been called to govern.

(Lettera a Tito 2,12)

In his first book "The name of God is mercy", published in 86 countries, Pope Francis about gay people reiterates that "they should be treated gently”, resuming his statement that had caused sensation: "if a person is gay, searches the Lord and has a good will, who am I to judge him? "Of course, Jesus himself said to his contemporaries: "I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not observe them, for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world... the word that I have spoken will serve as judge on the last day" (St.John 12:47-48). And the Gospel - the Pope urges everyone to keep a copy with him and read it every day - recalls that the people of Sodom, infamous for the sin of homosexuality, were scorched by fire which rained from the heaven (in the third circle of Hell, Dante meets a large group of homosexuals, including the scholar Brunetto Latini and even a cardinal, forced to walk on a hot sandy soil under a rain of fire!)
"Do not be deceived" – so it is written in the Word of God – “fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate , sodomites, thieves… will not inherit the kingdom of God". "Woe to those who will die in mortal sin!"  Saint Francis warns in his Canticle of the Sun: and "woe" stands for eternal Hell!
The true mercy of God, as it is written, "teaches us to reject godless ways and worldly passions, and
in the present age to live lives that are self-controlled, upright and godly” (Titus 2:12)
Yes, if we really search for the Lord and His salvation, He forgives us and changes us, giving us the strength to mend ourselves from our vices and sins, whatever they are: this is mercy!

Misericordiosi come il Padre - Mercyful as the Father

Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy: a really extraordinary Jubilee, with the presence of two Popes, and with the opening of the Holy Door at the Vatican that was preceded by the opening of the Holy Door in Bangui, Central African Republic, and will be followed by the opening of thousands of "Holy Doors "in the cathedrals, basilicas and sanctuaries all over the world.
The Church, true Ark of salvation, opens all possible doors to save those who want to enter, really converting to Christ who said: "I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved!"

But, the Pope has specified, "the Church needs this extraordinary moment. I do not say it is good for the Church, no!, I say: the Church needs it".
An acknowledgement of how much the Mercy of God is necessary to the Church herself, for her purification and renewal.
A further and perhaps extreme manifestation of God's mercy in these extreme times of human history. All those who, admitting to be miserable, trust in the mercy of God the Father and therefore use mercy to everyone, can access to the grace of the Jubilee indulgence.
Because then the judgment of God is approaching, as it is written (St. James 2:13): "The judgment will be without mercy for those who have not been merciful; yet mercy triumphs over judgment ".

Ricerchi gloria nelle alleanze politiche e religiose…”

Pope Francis, Obama and Putin: these are the three personalities that condition the fate of the world, according to the journalist and writer Eugenio Scalfari, who ascribes to the Pope the revolutionary religious vision of a unique God throughout the world, despite the divergences amongst the different faiths. Too bad that Pope Francis has not yet managed to reciprocate the great love which Scalfari manifests towards him, bringing his friend, out of true love, to escape from Hell and so enjoy with him eternal happiness. Because, as one reads in the Word of God, Christ is "the true God and eternal life", the only Saviour of the world, who will return to judge the living and the dead (and therefore He will judge also Obama, Putin, Pope Francis... Mohammed... Scalfari!). But the Church risks to go adrift from these fundamental truths of the Holy Scriptures, proclaimed at every Mass, insofar as it searches appreciation from a world that is hostile and rebellious to God and to His eternal Gospel. "Where is your original faithfulness?" so the Lord rebukes His Church in a prophecy of Marcello Ciai (The Mantle, 1995) "How beautiful you were, oh my bride! Mother of my children, delights of my eyes, splendour for all the peoples! Now you are nothing other than rotten fruit!... You seek for glory in political and religious alliances..."

"Let every parish, every religious community, every monastery, every sanctuary accept a refugee family!": this is the directive that Pope Francis has addressed to the Bishops of Europe, emphasizing the word "every", and recalling that in the judgment’s day Jesus  will say to us that everything we have done to one of the least of his brothers we have done it to Him (St. Matthew 25:40). Yes, it will result in our award or condemnation the hospitality accorded or denied to one of Jesus’ "least brothers": who, according to Jesus' own words, are those who believe in Him, and do the will of  the Heavenly Father (St. Matthew 12:50, 18: 6).

What a great opportunity to demonstrate our love to Christ, welcoming Him  first of all in our  brethren in flight from countries where they are persecuted because of their faith! But since, as taught by the Word of God, we are called to "do good to all" - even though "especially to our brothers in the faith" (Saint Paul to the Galatians 6:10) – what an occasion could we have to demonstrate Christ’s love to many non-Christian refugees, in the hope that they will become our brothers believing in Christ and finding in Him peace and eternal salvation!

Following the appeal of the Pope, the IACA, International Association for Christian Action, makes available since now a little house of the Foundation Ciai in the community center of Rocca Sant'Angelo, Assisi, to give hospitality to a family.

Two women safeguard the security of the two most important sanctuary-cities in the world: the Vatican and Assisi.

Maria Rosaria Maiorino, on the left, is the director of the Inspectorate of Public Security of the Vatican, responsible for the personal security of Pope Francis when he is  going out of the Vatican City. She says to be proud of this, as a Catholic who loves the Pope and the Church.

Francesca Di Luca, on the right, is instead the new leader of the Police station of Assisi, the town where she also decided to live to be closer to the people of Assisi and to "receive in a more immediate and effective way" as she said "the instances of the citizens."

Two women with a most delicate task in places of such a high risk: to be appreciated not only for their determination and organizational skills, but also for their qualities, exquisitely feminine, of sensitivity and affection.

 Cavalli arabi scalpitano verso Roma

Arabian horses are pawing towards Rome

"But here the true horses, those mounted by cruel and victorious warriors paw against and towards you. They have erected a bastion, and there the Holy War is being prepared" : that's how a prophecy on Rome (To the Pleasure seeking City, 1995) by Marcello Ezekiel Ciai warned. It was 20 years ago when this prophet of Assisi, sick and in retreat on a mountain hermitage, wrote this and other prophecies that concerned the collapse of the world economy, the earthquake of Assisi, and the Vatican.
ALL HIS
PROPHECIES ARE COMING TRUE!
In the New Testament, in the book of Revelation (13.7) one reads that the beast rising from the sea  "... was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them."
Of course, the final victory will still be of Christ and the evil will not prevail over the Church: but just to realize this, God invites us to pray and to cry.

After Paris, the Vatican ... The anti-terrorism alert is growing in the Vatican, openly and repeatedly threatened by Islamic terrorism.

"Your allies are arming themselves, cruel warriors lie in wait at your door..." Marcello Ezekiel Ciai wrote in a prophecy addressed to John Paul II and the Vatican In 1995 "every protection is demolished, oh house of Peter!" .

And a prophecy of the same year addressed to Rome (To the Pleasure Seeking City) made clear who these cruel warriors were:

"But here the true horses, those mounted by cruel and victorious warriors trample against and towards you. They have erected a bastion, and there the holy war is being prepared".

Oh yes, this prophecy spoke of cruel and victorious warriors, like those we saw sowing death and terror in Paris, motivated by the Jihad which the Koran claims.

The prophecy on the Vatican received by Marcello, this prophet of Assisi marginalized as "heretic" for 12 years, proves to be of extreme, dramatic actuality. It ended with this heartfelt appeal by the Spirit to pray and mourn for the Church. "Cry, cry oh daughter of Sion: too great is my mourning and my desolation, for those days of terror wanted by the Lord, God of hosts" .

One shouldn't be shocked to read that God can send days of terror.

God is love, and the greatest proof of this is just in that cross of his Son that Islamic fundamentalists hate so much. But in His love He even judges and punishes, up to that eternal judgment called Hell. And in the end just to save His creatures from this extreme eternal condemnation, God pours His scourges on a hostile and rebellious world, so that it may repent; and God also scourges His Church when it moves away from his Word, so that it may return to the primitive love and faithfulness.

And God often uses as an instrument of His judgments the very enemies of His people: but they will be judged in turn, as often we read in the Holy Scriptures.

It is necessary to pray, humble ourselves and do penance in these days more than ever before, for the love of the Church, so that God may divert or attenuate his judgment on it. And just for this  Massimo Coppo, the pilgrim of Assisi who was praying in the rain in Saint Peter Square on a sewer during the conclave for the election of this Pope, has returned several times to pray on that very same place, visibly accompanying the grief made in secret in Assisi by Marcello, sick and in bed. But the last time Massimo was hindered to renew his prayer on that same sewer in Saint Peter's Square, as a matter of fact he was violently pushed out of the square by a police officer in plain clothes...
